If you have been following skincare trends recently, then you know that Korean skincare -- or K-beauty -- has become popular in the US over the past few years. Creators on TikTok have shared popular Korean skincare products and techniques, such as “slugging” or “glass skin routines,” with large American audiences. Korean skincare is rooted in tradition, deep care and love for your skin. Products are utilized to maintain a healthy skin barrier and support hydration. The best Korean skincare products tend to contain less harmful chemicals, and the chosen ingredients help to address skin issues like texture and dullness. Some of the best Korean skincare brands can be found online or at common retailers like Amazon, Sephora, Target or Ulta. I set out to test 35 Korean skincare products to find the best brands that make your skin glow.
What is the best overall Korean skincare brand?
I tested 35 products from 11 different Korean skincare brands. Each offers unique products at differing price points. Depending on your skin type (dry, dull, oily, acne-prone, sensitive or combination) and budget, one brand may work better than the other. Therefore, there is no single best overall Korean skincare brand. All chosen brands on this list are great choices depending on your skin type, skincare needs and budget.
Mediheal Toner Pads
Why we like it: Mediheal is known for its toners and toner pads. These products treat and prep the skin for the next steps in your skincare routine (usually, the next step is moisturizer). Toners treat irritation, blemishes, uneven skin tone, dark spots and dull skin. One of my favorite aspects of Mediheal is that it offers seven types of toner pads for different skin types. I was able to test four toners, and I especially liked the Watermide Moisture Pads. It’s the most hydrating of the toners, and I love how cooling it feels on my skin. Best of all, neither toner irritated my skin.
Who is it best for: This brand is suitable for all skin types since Mediheal offers a diverse collection of products. I would also highly recommend this brand for those looking for high-quality, semi-affordable sheet masks that actually give you results. I tested the Hyper Collagen sheet mask, and after 30 minutes, my skin looked and felt softer. I even thought my skin was glowing the next day.
Who should not get it: Mediheal doesn’t offer thick moisturizers, so those with dry skin looking for barrier-repairing products should try another brand.
