I Almost Can’t Believe How Poreless This $15 Treatment Makes My Skin Look

Original Article

When I think of pore strips, I think about the charcoal ones I used to buy at CVS that ripped off my skin, left it raw, and, frankly, in worse condition than prior to application. I’m so mentally (and almost physically) scarred by the experience that I was apprehensive to the point of near-avoidance when Mediheal’s Blackhead Melting Clear Nose Patch landed on my desk. But being hurt doesn’t mean you should never love again, and thankfully, by opening myself up to vulnerability, I have all but eradicated the pores and blackheads on my nose.

There are three reasons I decided to take a chance on Mediheal’s pore strips. The first is that K-beauty lives in the future; if anything can solve a problem, it's Korean skin care. Second, I am a fan of many Mediheal products. Third, the silicone-y material is soft and flexible, nothing like the sandpaper of my youth.

Mediheal Blackhead Melting Clear Nose Patch

It usually takes more than one use to see results from a skin care product, but as a treatment, and an incredibly effective one at that, this is an exception. After completing the 12-minute, three-step process, the pores on my nose, cheeks, and chin were hard to spot.

The first step in Mediheal’s Blackhead Melting Patch is the jelly-like strip soaked in a serum composed of exfoliating alpha hydroxy acids and brightening floral extracts. After five minutes, take it off and use the included spatula to physically slough away all the gunk that's come up and out. It’s gross but very satisfying. The third step is another patch, except this one is in a calming and hydrating serum to counteract some of the harshness of the first step. The short-term results are pores so tight, they’re nearly invisible, and the long-term results are pores that are generally smaller than they were pre-Mediheal patch.
